Pipe down, I’m back.

Thanks for all your well wishes. For the past few days, I’ve been living on Theraflu (which, if you’ve never had, make sure you are completely ready to fall asleep and dont have anything to do for the next 9 hours) and soup, and feel much better, with the exception of a still nagging sore throat.

This did, however, free up a lot of time for aimlessly wandering the internet and I stumbled upon a few gems (some fitness related, some not.)

Love is a strong word, so I will call this Link Like. I have commitment issues.

*For those of you with blogs that are seriously looking to up your page views and readership consider joining Blog Carnivals. Submit a post that fits the carnival host’s criteria and shows off your writing skills, and they will post them on their site, sending their readers to your blog.

*I linked this on GroundedFitness, but researchers have developed an exercise pill. Seriously. It’s supposed to duplicate the results of cardiovascular exercise without actually doing any exercise.

*I had no idea those skirts were such a big deal.

*The history behind a lot of exercise gear we don’t give a second thought.

I hove nothing to do today but a little cleaning, writing a few newpaper articles, and then Im walking Porkie to Petco to get his nails clipped. i also have to get hime on of those embarrassing cones cause he has a cut on his ear he will not let heal. Im not entirely convinced it will stay on, but we’ll see. He’s gunna be so mad at me today.

Head to GroundedFitness and read Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Thighs.

I present to you- my new treadmill:
<img src="http://www.everygymsnightmare.com/images/tread.jpg"width="500" height="400">
I got this bad boy at Big 5 Sporting Goods, on sale for $299, usually priced $399

I have to admit, Im pleasantly suprised. For being so cheap, it is suprisingly strudy and quiet.

<img src="http://www.everygymsnightmare.com/images/tread2.jpg"width="500" height="400">

It folds up and rolls out of the way for easy storgae- which doesnt help me yet because i didnt clean out my spare room like i should have done first, so now its in the middle of my living room.

It took the boy about and hour to put it together, with minimal swearing, so I would say its pretty easy to assemble.

<img src="http://www.everygymsnightmare.com/images/tread3.jpg"width="500" height="400">

That picture is a little blurry, but the display is nothing special. It marks speed, and distance, plus calories burned which is completely inaccurate, but I don’t use that feature anyway.
<img src="http://www.everygymsnightmare.com/images/tread4.jpg"width="400" height="500">
The incline is manual, so I just leave it at its, highest, but its is no problem to switch. the thing is pretty light so you can adjust it no problem.

Its nothing special, but it works, is quiet and didn’t put nearly as much of a dent in my wallet as I thought buying a treadmill would. If you are just looking for a way to move inside, I would definately recommend this, but if you want accurate heart rate/calories burned- you may need to spring for a more expensive model.

LisaR I will post your motivation question question tonight on Grounded Fitness.

My pedometer died today.

It was a long time coming. The hinge was broken and the battery kept slipping out. i went to the bathroom today, decided to check and see my step count, and when i opened it up, its fpoor little blank face was was staring back at me. The battery was gone and no where to be found.

Im not going to buy a new one. I’ve relied on that thing for too long, mainly out of curiousity, but admittedly I substituded hitting my step goal for actual cardio too many times. I’d march in place or make extra trtips to do things to hit that total, but I know it doesnt count. atleast, not as much as real cardio. so Im going to focus more on the time I spend on cardio and the intensity of it instead. I can’t remember the last time i haven’t had one.

On the plus side, i got a promotion today. Manager, baby. Well, service manager, which means i do everything except sales, because I suck at it and refuse to. I give in too easily.

“Do you want this?”
“No.”
“Okay.”

That’s how I roll.

Don’t forget to enter the Kettlebell Giveaway. I’ve gotten some pretty badass entries, so make sure you’re as creative as possible.
